I had no idea that Cupid is a spinner.
OMG. That poor kid. LOL

Well. It stands to reason!

Good thing Freud came around the same time this photo did, 'cause that poor kid was probably his first patient.

Yes, they really did make wheels that small. A friend of mine has an antique flax wheel, and it's a saxony style one about that big.

Poor kid.
Wonder what complexes he grew up with? Hope his school friends never saw this photo.
Nice parlor wheel though.

I think he's trying to make the best of a bad situation and is pretending to drive - first gear.....drun, drun. I'm sure he's making car noises.

Poor kid. Probably just old enough to be mortified.

Not only does it look like cupid is a spinner, he/she has the same look I had when I first sat down at my wheel!!!!

That wheel must be teeny-tiny. Is it even a real wheel, I wonder? Did they make 'em kid-sized back in the day?
And is that really flax on the distaff, or wool? It looks fluffier than I imagine flax to be (never having spun any myself.)

ROFL, desperately resisting making the obvious play on Elise's comment...

Apparently Cupid is a flax spinner! And has a wheel sized just for him. I wonder if that posture comes from hours at the wheel, or perhaps his wings are just a little tight...

Hmm, obviousley, the world of photography has already had to endure an Anne Geddes tm phase. Will the sufering of small child models never stop?

Oh silly me! It's his quiver. Well, what do I know of such things!
Is that flax?

Is cupid especially well-endowed or is that just an oversized garment? Cupid looks alarmed at being next to the wheel though.

Hahaha!
