I KNIDDED YOU A SCARF

Just because you can do a thing does not mean you should do that thing.  Looks like a comfy outfit, doesn't it?

LolvoguescarfThe caption reads, "SCARVED AND FEATHERED  Natural or synthetic--whatever the fabric, the more tactile, the better.  Alberta Ferretti goat hair coat, $4,800.  Marni onyx rubber skirt, $486; Marni, NYC. Giles tangerine oversize wool scarf. Wolford tights. Gina for Giles pheasant-feather stilettos. Fashion Editor: Grace Coddington."

What can one say?  Even the title implies punishment.  The model certainly looks like she's in pain.  That or gasping for air.

I'm sorry if this hurts your eyes.  Click to biggify if you can.

I am especially grateful that the caption-writer made a point of informing us that the scarf is oversized.  Whew.  If you look closely, you will see that there are even cables in the scarf-like object.  Oooh.  Fancy

This was making the rounds of the knitting net a while back, and I don't know who to credit for the LOL captions.  If you know, let me know, and I'll add it. kthnxbai.  Update:  the original came from Jezebel.com here.

OH. HAI. I NIDDED YOU A SCARF.

Just thought I'd tell you how much I appreciate all of the wonderful images you find! Keep up the wonderful work!
Thanks...Pam

How many sheep is she wearing?

OUCH.

So yes, I thought it was photoshopped. But I got my paper this weekend, and in the colour supplement there were lots of these enormous knits FOR REAL. Costing lots and lots of money. Knitted with yarn thick as thumbs. And all horrid colours. With feathery shoes. I need a brainbleach.

The whole outfit is fuuuugly.

This makes me laugh a lot.
It reminds me of the lovely cartoon on Franklin's blog about Ravelry. Some things have the power to amuse me over and over. Picture a contented blogreader in SK Canada

I've looked at this a few times now, and I'm sure it's been photoshopped. Naturally suspicious, that's me.

"I had clothes like that once....then my dad got a job." (favorite quote in this house). Looks like the gauge is 3" to the stitch---

I know you like us to comment, but I've been having trouble coming up with a way to put my reaction into words (most of the previous posters have done a good job) I must say, this really is painful to look at! In so many ways! -shiver-

Looks more like a regular sized scarf on a doll....LOL!

You know, I would have called it a sqarph.

The feathery goodness, especially the shoes, is of particular or peculiar note. Doesn't it just make you want to be a slave to fashion?

the giant scarf is the least offensive part of the outfit. those shoes are heinous.

Very funny! No wonder 'high fashion' gets such a bad rap.

squeee! Does this mean you'll be taking Habetrot in the direction of You Knit What???

I miss that blog...

That entire outfit is truly frightening.

As my dad sometimes says, "The things you see when you don't got a gun."

oversize scarf = shawl, in my world at least.

ow. I think my eyes are bleeding.

It's a costume, right? It's almost Halloween, so it's got to be a costume. Tell me it's a costume!

The things people do on purpose.

Holy sh*#%!!!!

If ever there was a photo that didn't need biggifying, it was this.

Definitely a WTF moment! And I'm still cracking up over Debbie's comment- "stomping turkeys..." Hehehe.
