Festivals
Last month around Rhinebeck time I was telling a new co-worker about my fondness for attending sheep and wool festivals. He responded, "What?! Did you say 'Sheep and wolf festivals?" I'm still laughing about it.
Not as crazy as it sounds, though. Here's one now:
And so they will forever be Sheep & Wolf Festivals for me. Thanks, Gerry!

That must be photoshopped...too funny, though.

I'm particularly impressed with how much the sheep aren't bothered by a leaping wolf. They're obviously used to it. Fairly small wolf though - Oley would squash them.
I think this is something Interweave could follow up - Handspinning for the Morphologically Gifted, with perhaps a follow up for vampires and other undead communities.

Ha ha! That is too funny. It would be fun to add how long it took the photographer to get their camera out, while praying that the wolf wouldn't stop before they got their picture!

Tell me that is photoshopped.

I told the gentleman who cuts my hair that I was going to a Sheep and Wool festival with my significant other. He thought I said "sheep and wolf" and thought it was some kind of S&M thing.
I thought it was quite funny too!

I must have a copy of Handspun for Werewolves for my personal library!

glad it does not happen only to me!
I thought it was my accent, but maybe is just a mental association people make unconsciously.

My six year old niece calls them sheep and woof festivals once we convinced her that it wasn't actually sheep and wolf.

Cute picture.
Usually people think I am nuts when I am talking about all the S & W festivals. I recently dragged a co-worker to Fiber Twist and she was fascinated watching the spinning.

I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I saw that!

When we published the *wonderful* book to accompany the Spin-Off "Save the Sheep" contest and traveling juried show, we called the book _Handspun Treasures from Rare Wools._ Appropriate, but hard to say fast when you're running down the hall trying to catch, or pass, a deadline. What comes out is "Handspun treasures for werewolves."
Part of the same world.
Love the photo.

I've had people ask me about fiber festivals when I'm wearing my sweatshirts, or say I'm going to one. I usually tell them it's just a bunch of regular folks.

My pastor said that same thing to me back in May when I was telling him about NH Sheep & Wool. I pointed out to him that a sheep and wolf festival wouldn't be very fun for the sheep.

Malaprops? We gotta million of 'em. Telling the puppies "Off the linoleum!" became "Hasta linoleum, baby."

Ha, that's what my kindergartner calls our local festival. Makes perfect sense to her, and she can't be persuaded otherwise. Love your site--always an intersting beautiful post.

Gadzooks! I don't think my sheep would be as calm with a wolf leap-frogging over them.
And of course "wolf" takes on a new significance for those of us in the upper Valley...
