| Tricoteuse Auvergnate, Part II »
This pleasant soul is a knitter (tricoteuse) from the Auvergne province in France. Can you imagine how much knitting those hands did in her lifetime?
Perhaps she lived in a village like this one, St.Flour in the Auvergne.

Everyone has their own take...I see a facial expression made necessary by a gibbous hump at her shoulder.

I wonder what is the green/yellow thing at her waist? It appears as though the yarn is in her pocket.

I wonder what kind of mischief is behind that devilish smile. Wonderful picture of someone I might have enjoyed knowing.

What a lovely image! And the smile and twinkle in her eye is wonderful. We camped through that area one summer when I was a child.
