Probably for the same reason I astounded my new down-the-block neighbor when I asked her about her maremma (sp?) - Oley! She was amazed that I knew the breed.
I had my first glimpse of working sheepdogs last weekend, and boy did they love their job! ;-) But those sheepdogs stayed behind and to one side of the sheep--they didn't lead the charge, like these dogs seem to be doing.
