My family had a seaside home near Fenwick, the Hepburn family summer home in Old Saybrook, and we'd see various and sundry Hepburns around town in the summer months. Later on, I was acquainted with Kate's brother when I lived in New Haven. I heard recently that he's the only surviving sibling of Kate's.

I look just like that when I knit. High cheekbones, lithe limbs, infinite flexibility while waiting for the next great role. *sigh*
Great picture.

She was an amazing person. And she really did break the rules.

And she could really knit? It wasn't just a pose?... I'm always so disappointed when it's just a pose. Good for her! :-)

She's one of my favorite actresses - I'm watching 'Holiday' right now, and she's knitting! :o)
