Can you imagine a country so proud of its heritage that it puts drop spinners on a national postage stamp?
This 1961 stamp is from Jugoslavia, and it accurately depicts three spinners in traditional dress, sitting upon their sit-upon distaves and spinning wool with hand spindles.
I don't know how I missed this.
People, people, people. Those are the famous Twirl triplets who lived from 1941-1961 and yodeled while they spun.
Oh, all right, I just made that up, but what do the dates signify?

I thought they all looked a bit anxious - obviously the artist had shouted at them to make sure all their arms were at the same angle and they had spun exactly the same length of yarn!
